COMMUNITY

Our culture and commitment.
Giving back to our communities is an important part of the Braun Intertec culture. We work closely with students interested in the math and science fields. Each year, we sponsor a 5k team to raise money to help children with life-threatening illnesses. We collect supplies for local food shelves through a companywide competition. Work with Braun Intertec and you’ll find unique and valuable ways to provide community support. Often, the company offers a financial corporate match for our employees' personal philanthropic efforts as well.

We also serve as instructors for organizations such as the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers to prepare engineering candidates for the Professional Engineering examination so they may attain their PE licensures/registrations. We participate in the Minnesota Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Engineering and Technology Exploring Post, a program that helps youths and young adults between the ages of 14 and 20 to learn more about the engineering profession. Our materials testing professionals work with many area technical colleges to introduce students to the world of construction materials testing by giving laboratory tours and testing demonstrations. Additionally, our building science professionals are active in the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) continuing education programs, often presenting on topics that address advancements in building science. Whether it's a local Boy Scout troop, technical colleges, universities or professional associations, at Braun Intertec we believe that supporting these organizations is a vital part of giving back to our professions as well as our communities.

Advancing our knowledge base.

Braun Intertec sponsors industry events that advance knowledge throughout the industry and related fields. Such events have included commercial real estate seminars, conferences focusing on market trends and presentations that allow us to share our expertise with others in the industry.

The University of Minnesota Professorship Program - bringing expertise to students.
We support the future of our industry through the J.S. Braun/Braun Intertec Professorship of Science and Technology at the University of Minnesota. This program makes it possible for professors from around the world to come to the University of Minnesota and teach aspiring students about engineering, materials testing, analytical chemistry and environmental topics. Since its inception, the Professorship has brought more than 20 outstanding professors to the University for teaching and research collaboration.
