LEADERSHIP IN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (LEED)

We provide LEED indoor air quality testing to help you analyze your environment. The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is a third-party certification program for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. "Indoor environmental quality" refers to the quality of the air and the environment within a building relative to its occupants’ health, comfort and performance. Improving indoor environmental quality involves designing, constructing, commissioning, operating and maintaining a building in ways that minimize or eliminate indoor air pollutants or emissions, while adequate volumes of fresh air are distributed to the occupied zones.

In the Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) category, an indoor air quality (IAQ) management plan for the pre-occupancy phase is developed and implemented. There are two ways to earn a LEED point for IAQ management. The first option is a flush out of a building, while the second option requires air testing and conducting baseline IAQ testing to show that contaminant levels do not exceed specified levels. In cases where there is little time before completion of construction and occupancy of the building, or when it may not be practical to flush-out the building relative to extreme temperature or high humidity conditions, the air testing option may be appropriate. Testing protocols involve both on-site measurements using direct read instruments and laboratory testing.

At Braun Intertec our analytical laboratory offers you LEED testing that includes Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs) and formaldehyde.
