Braun Intertec Analytical Laboratory

SURFACE WATER ANALYSIS

Whether it’s a local pond in your neighborhood or a nearby lake you use for recreation, maintaining good water quality is important to your community. However, accumulation of common contaminants such as lawn fertilizers, pesticides, and other pollutants or unclean fill from nearby construction and redevelopment affect the water quality and impact future viability. The Braun Intertec analytical laboratory performs a variety of tests to determine what types of contaminants are present in surface waters and at what levels.

Our analysis includes metals such as iron, sodium, potassium and manganese; nutrients such as ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, chloride, ortho phosphorus and total phosphorus; and physical characteristics such as total suspended solids, turbidity and chlorophyll a.

Testing can be part of several federal programs, such as the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), national pollutant discharge elimination system (NPDES), clean water act (CWA) or various state and local programs. If you would like more information on surface water analysis and our testing capabilities, please contact us.
