Waterproofing and air barrier inspection and testing services improve building efficiency.
Building designs have migrated from insulation being inside the wall cavity to a watertight shell with insulation on the exterior. In part, this is due to the higher demands of energy-efficient design. Another change is in the use of air infiltration barriers. New spray-on materials can accomplish both waterproofing and air barrier functions, but the proper selection of an impermeable or permeable membrane is necessary to prevent damage to the building envelope.

We also take a look at application methods. As a feature of our inspection services, we document the thickness, coating voids, proper flashing and coverage, proper moisture and substrate conditions of the substrate, and compliance with the manufacturer’s conditions.
