Post-flood services.
As floodwaters rise, many communities and businesses are preparing for the increased likelihood of significant spring flooding. Timing for addressing water intrusion is critical, and highly recommended in the early stages of flooding to help reduce the expanding damage that can occur within a short time of the flooding. Braun Intertec has extensive experience and multi-disciplinary expertise in assessing the impact of flood damage and other natural disasters to buildings and their day-to-day operations. Our services go beyond engineering flood control structures to include post-flood services provided by building science and industrial hygiene consultants. In the event of a flood, we can assist you in determining the extent of water and other damages to the building, and help you take the appropriate measures necessary to maintain overall business operations and help safeguard the building occupants. Our services and team of professional staff are tailored to address a variety of site conditions and structures. 

Specific service capabilities include:

• Initial walk-through survey of the building and property to determine the extent of damage to building components and finishes, as well as, furniture and equipment.
• Evaluation of building materials for the presence of moisture, including moisture content and humidity measurements, and infrared camera thermal imaging.
• Occupant exposure assessments, sampling and analyses, relative to biological (fungal and bacterial organisms) and chemical contaminants.
• Hazardous material assessments associated with potential impacts to asbestos-containing building materials, lead paint-containing surfaces, chemical products stored or used on site, etc.
• Identification and evaluation of environmental site contamination associated with the flood event.
• Remediation recommendations and options addressing general clean-up/decontamination criteria and abatement needs, including general oversight and testing services during the remediation process.
• Building restoration consultation and assistance with developing a cost-effective scope of work for clean-up and reconstruction.
