Each year, BNI Coal supplies lignite coal to fuel both units of Minnkota Power’s Milton R. Young Station. The electricity made from this lignite is used to light farms and businesses in North Dakota and northern Minnesota.
We have been providing E-logging services for BNI Coal at this site for the past three years. Our work includes coring down through lignite in front of the drag line and core drilling future exploratory options. Our drillers also install monitoring wells on the property, and operate drill rigs that are core drilling for lignite, collecting data relating to its location.
