In 1988 Jon Carlson joined Braun Intertec as an entry-level environmental technician, and steadily worked his way up the ranks to become CEO.
As Jon progressed in his career, he was able to learn about Braun Intertec’s many service offerings. Now as CEO, Jon serves as the primary contact with major Braun Intertec clients and leads the company’s strategic planning initiatives.
Jon received his B.S. in Geology, B.S. in Geophysics, and M.S. in Management of Technology from the University of Minnesota. He is a registered professional geologist, and a certified hazardous materials manager and an accredited asbestos management planner. He has numerous certifications from OSHA and is a member of the Minnesota Ground Water Association, Minnesota Environmental Initiative, the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, and Minnesota Brownfields.
Robert J. Janssen, PE
As President and Principal Engineer, Bob Janssen supervises project teams and reviews geotechnical and construction reports. Bob is also responsible for developing project teams and providing engineering services for national retail clients and projects.
He has had oversight of 400+ national retail stores and more than 25 major distribution centers located throughout the United States. He reviews engineering reports, performs peer reviews of other consultants, manages construction quality control, and provides consultation for particularly complex projects.
Bob holds a B.S. in Geological Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
George D. Kluempke, PE
George Kluempke, Chairman of the Board, has been with the firm for more than 35 years and has held several management positions within the organization, including President and CEO.
He is very active in a variety of engineering/environmental organizations. He is Past President of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC/MN), and has served as Chairman of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL). He also was instrumental in transitioning Braun Intertec to an ESOP owned company in 1996.
George has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota.
Scott C. Barnard, CMA
Scott Barnard is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Braun Intertec. Scott has oversight and responsibility of the financial and information technology areas of the firm. He joined Braun Intertec in 1991 and was promoted to his current title of Chief Financial Officer in 2003.
Scott is a member of the audit and finance committee, advisor to the Braun Intertec board of directors, and serves on the board of directors of Braun Stanley International. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and holds a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
Michael L. Bratrud, PG
Michael L. Bratrud, PG, is a Vice President. Mike is a principal scientist and the head of the Environmental Consulting Group where he directs environmental due diligence, hydrogeologic evaluations, remedial investigations, and development and redevelopment related activities. He also consults on hazardous waste and Superfund (CERCLA) sites, including soil and groundwater remediation plans, and serves as a regulatory agency liaison. He joined Braun Intertec in 1998.
Mike received a geology degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and did graduate work in geology at the University of Minnesota in Duluth.
Charles R. Brenner, PE, LEED AP
Chuck Brenner is the company’s Principal Materials Engineer. He has extensive training and experience with construction issues related to building envelopes, pavements, landfills and industrial plants. Chuck performs Property Condition Assessments, investigates failures, and prepares recommendations for historic building restorations. He assesses water damage due to leaks and floods, and consults on mold in buildings.
Chuck holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Michael M. Heuer, PE
Mike Heuer is a Vice President and is responsible for developing project specific teams and scopes of work to provide the services our clients need to achieve their geotechnical and construction related goals. He has reviewed more than 4,000 testing reports and evaluations during his career and continues to add to that total. He is also responsible for compliance related issues and is the corporate risk manager.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota.
Daniel R. Holte, PG
Daniel R. Holte, PG, is a Vice President and member of the Braun Intertec Board of Directors. He is a principal scientist in the Environmental Consulting Group where he performs several consulting roles involving company and facility acquisitions, property redevelopment, environmental compliance assessments and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) environmental assessments. His duties also include strategic transactional consulting, technical review of project scopes and serving as a regulatory agency liaison. Since joining Braun Intertec in 1988, Dan has cultivated an extensive client list that includes urban redevelopers, private equity firms, foundations and agricultural corporations.
Dan received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology.
Ray A. Huber, PE
As Principal Engineer and Vice President, Ray Huber oversees transportation related projects with an emphasis on design-build. He also acts as a Principal Engineer on office development projects for large commercial clients.
Ray has a Bachelor’s of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota.
Gregory R. Jandro, PE, PG
Gregg Jandro is a vice president and principal engineer. He is responsible for setting up major project work scopes, consulting on large geotechnical and construction projects, and helps to lead the strategic initiatives for the markets that Braun Intertec serves. Gregg is known for his comprehensive knowledge of the construction process and his attention to detail.
Gregg holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Steven P. Nagle, PE
Steve Nagle is a Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors. As a Vice President of the firm, Steve leads the company’s Geotechnical Engineering Group, serves as a primary contact for many major clients and is currently spearheading efforts in the flood control market.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University.
