Braun Intertec expands Metro Engineering and Building Sciences Groups
Minneapolis, MN (July 1, 2010) – Braun Intertec, a premier Upper Midwest engineering, consulting and testing firm, is proud to welcome several new employees to its Minneapolis office:
Ben Dzioba, PE, PMP, is a senior engineer in the company’s Metro Engineering Group where he will focus on design-build, construction materials testing and other transportation-related projects. Mr. Dzioba has nine years of industry experience and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), which recognizes his expertise in leading project teams and delivering results. He has been involved with many major construction projects across Minnesota, including the new I-35W Bridge, TH 212 and the Bridges of Mower County design-build projects. Mr. Dzioba is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in civil engineering.
Brad McCarter, PE, is a staff engineer in the company’s Metro Engineering Group where he will work on a number of transportation and commercial projects. Mr. McCarter has seven years of industry experience, including working on a major research project for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, as well as serving as a staff engineer/project manager for a variety of projects in the commercial, industrial, retail and residential markets. He earned his civil engineering degree at the University of Tennessee.
Steven Schmidgall is a building sciences specialist in the company’s Building Sciences Group. Mr. Schmidgall is a Certified Construction Contract Administrator and a LEED Accredited Professional. He has extensive architectural and construction contract administration experience with healthcare, commercial, industrial, educational and civic buildings. At Braun Intertec, he will perform property condition assessments, building envelope studies, construction management, and owner construction project representation. Mr. Schmidgall has an MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from the University of Minnesota.
Jay Jackson is a building sciences technologist in the company’s Building Sciences Group. Mr. Jackson has 15 years of experience in the architectural industry and will provide window testing, blower door testing and forensic architectural services at Braun Intertec. He has an Associate of Science degree in architecture from Northwest Technical Institute and his professional portfolio includes projects in the correctional facility, retail, healthcare, industrial/manufacturing and multi-family housing markets.
Kelsey Blommer, LEED AP, is a building sciences technologist in the company’s Building Sciences Group, where she will be involved with forensic site visits and property condition assessments. She has an architecture degree from the University of Minnesota and spent six years working on multi-family housing and retail projects.
Jennifer Bennett was recently hired as a GIS (geographic information system) specialist. Ms. Bennett has more than five years of GIS experience focusing on merging cartography and database technology to help projects progress by creating high-level maps and spatial data analyses. A graduate of the University of St. Thomas with degrees in environmental studies, philosophy and a minor in geology, she later attended Anoka Ramsey Community College to earn her GIS certificate.
