Braun Intertec client newsletter earns national marketing awardMinneapolis, MN (July 23, 2010) – Braun Intertec, a premier Upper Midwest engineering, consulting and testing firm, is proud to announce that its client newsletter, The Pocket Consultant, recently was awarded third place in the "Best External Newsletter" category of ZweigWhite’s national Marketing Excellence Awards competition. ZweigWhite is a marketing and educational organization for companies in engineering, architecture and environmental industries and its national awards program recognizes the best industry-related marketing materials from firms across the United States and Canada. "This award recognizes the design, creativity, purpose and results of The Pocket Consultant and it is an honor to have our newsletter ranked among one of the top in the industry," said Braun Intertec CEO Jon Carlson. "More than 2,500 people across the United States receive The Pocket Consultant, and we strive to provide them with information they can use to improve their current and future projects." The first edition of The Pocket Consultant debuted 13 years ago after its founder, Charles D. Hubbard, PE, PG, a principal at Braun Intertec, wanted to respond to common questions he often received from clients about geotechnical engineering and materials testing. While the first issue of the newsletter was penned exclusively by Mr. Hubbard and was sent to 20 clients, articles in the newsletter today are written by many Braun Intertec professionals from the company’s engineering, environmental, building sciences, and analytical and materials testing departments before being sent out to an extensive client list. Mr. Hubbard continues to oversee The Pocket Consultant newsletter and pens its popular "Ask the Professor" column, which responds to client questions. Lindsey Buhrmann is the publication’s editor and graphic designer, giving it a marketing edge when it comes to design.
