Collin Creek Culvert Improvements

The Collin Creek Culvert Improvements are part of a broader redevelopment project aimed at revitalizing the former Collin Creek Mall site. The culverts, originally constructed in the 1980s, require reinforcement and upgrades to support new infrastructure and prevent flooding issues. The improvements are crucial for the $1 billion redevelopment of the area, which includes residential, retail, and office spaces. The culvert work must be completed before additional construction can proceed

Braun Intertec provided multiple services on improvements to the three existing 35-foot by 15-foot culverts including removal of clay soils beneath footings and replacing with high-strength flowable concrete, widening the footings, and constructing a 14-inch thick reinforced concrete liner for each culvert. The liner will be constructed with pneumatically applied concrete using the existing CMP as backing. An existing 48-inch RCP storm sewer line will also be removed and replaced. Additionally, we provided Phase I Environmental Site Assessment services. Braun Intertec provided construction materials testing services including earthwork, laboratory and field testing, reinforcing steel, concrete testing and observation placement, and Shotcrete testing.
