I-35W North MnPASS

The I-35W North MnPASS project comprises Minnesota Department of Transportation’s (MnDOT) most recent effort to expand the regional MnPASS system in support of the goals and vision of the Metropolitan Council’s updated 2040 Transportation Policy Plan. Once complete, the project will add north- and southbound MnPASS lanes within the I-35W median and complete pavement rehabilitation along a 12-mile alignment between Roseville and Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Braun Intertec was under contract by MnDOT to provide onsite documentation during the implementation of the project RAP and provide asbestos and regulated waste removal oversight during construction. During the first year of the on-going construction, Braun Intertec provided oversight during the removal of asbestos containing waste materials from two bridges prior to demolition, the removal of over 7,980 tons of asbestos containing waste materials and contaminated soil from a former dump located on MnDOT Right-of-Way (ROW), and the excavation, stabilization, and disposal of over 200 tons of soil with hazardous levels of lead.
