Ask a Consultant: Why Choose an Internship or Co-op with Braun Intertec?

By Braun Intertec | September 17, 2024

We sat down with Zoie Plunkett, Early Talent Recruiter, and Cyle Erie, PE, Principal Engineer to explore the advantages of Braun Intertec’s cooperative education (co-op) and internship programs. The co-op and internship programs are focused on providing valuable experiences in the industry and mentorship to help kickstart students’ careers.

What’s the difference between the co-op and internship?

  • Co-op: A paid, full-time, work-based learning opportunity designed for current students in a civil engineering or construction management career track. The co-op program has a duration of 6 months, from mid-May to November.
  • Internship: A paid, full-time, work-based learning opportunity from May to August. Available for engineering, construction management, environmental, or corporate services career tracks.

Why choose an engineering co-op or internship at Braun Intertec?

There are many reasons why the Braun Intertec co-op & internship programs are valuable to engineering students. Unlike other programs, Braun Intertec offers broad exposure to the industry, allowing students to explore different engineering career paths and find the right fit for them. Not only do engineering students get to explore career paths, but the program gives co-ops and interns direct access to hiring managers, mentors, and individuals in the industry to help build up their networks. This sets students on the right path while being supported by a network that can help them advance.
